REST API · Beta

Your portfolio, from your own code

Read your net worth, portfolios and holdings, and record positions from a script or a spreadsheet. The same data the app shows, over HTTPS with a personal access token.

Getting started

Your first request in three steps

  1. Create a token

In TrackMyStack, open Account, then Connected apps, and create an API token. Choose read-only or read and write. The token is shown once, so copy it then.

  2. Send it with each request

Put the token in the Authorization header. Every endpoint is under https://api.trackmystack.app/rest/v1.

  3. Revoke it when you are done

Tokens do not expire. Revoke one on the same screen and it stops working on the next request.

Your net worth

curl https://api.trackmystack.app/rest/v1/net-worth \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer tms_pat_…"

Good to know

How the API thinks about your data

Positions, not transactions

A holding’s history is the total held on each date. Writing a position replaces what stood on that date; to record a sale, write the smaller total.

Assets by id

Search the market catalog, then create a holding with the candidate’s assetId. A ticker can be renamed or reassigned; the id stays with the asset.

Free and subscription

Net worth, portfolios, holdings, positions, market search and every write work on any account, priced at the last close. History, movers, allocation, dividends and goals need a subscription, and prices are live with one.

Rate limits

Each account has 120 requests a minute, shared with its assistant connections, and 30 of those for the heavier analysis. Past either, the API answers 429 with a Retry-After header.
