How to Add TrackMyStack Widgets to Your iPhone or Android Home Screen

Put your net worth and today's change on your home screen. How to add and set up the TrackMyStack widgets on iPhone and Android, what each one shows, and how to hide the amounts.

The Short Answer

TrackMyStack widgets put your net worth and today’s change on your home screen, so you can check them without opening the app.

  • iPhone: add the Net worth widget in Small, Medium or Large.
  • Android: add the Net Worth widget, the Top Movers widget, or both.
  • Everything or one portfolio: each widget shows your whole net worth or a single portfolio you pick.
  • Free for everyone. Premium adds live prices and your top movers.

You need iOS 17 or later, or Android 8 or later, and you need to be signed in to the app.

What Each Widget Shows

iPhone

There is one widget, Net worth, in three sizes:

SizeWhat it shows
SmallNet worth, today’s change in money and percent, and the time of the prices
MediumThe same, plus up to 4 top movers
LargeThe same, plus up to 9 top movers

Android

There are two widgets, and you can resize both:

  • Net Worth shows your net worth and today’s change.
  • Top Movers shows between 3 and 10 holdings, depending on how tall you make it.

Top movers

Top movers are the holdings whose value changed most today, gains and losses in one list. Each row shows the latest price, the change in percent and the change in value. Tap a row to open that holding. Holdings you value manually, and anything without a market price, are not listed.

Free and Premium

The widgets are free. Without Premium they use end-of-day prices, so the day’s price moves show up in today’s change only once that day’s closing prices come in. They also show no movers: on iPhone, Medium and Large show a short note where the movers would be, and the Android Top Movers widget shows an upgrade card. With Premium you get live prices and your movers.

Currency

A widget for your whole account shows your net worth in your home currency. A widget for one portfolio uses that portfolio’s currency.

Before You Start

Sign in to TrackMyStack on your phone and open the app once. The app hands your latest figures and your list of portfolios to the widgets, so a widget added before that shows placeholder values and offers no portfolios to pick.

Add a Widget on iPhone

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit, then Add Widget. On iOS 17, tap the + in the top-left corner instead.
  3. Search for TrackMyStack and tap it.
  4. Swipe to the size you want and tap Add Widget.
  5. Tap Done.

A new widget shows your whole net worth. To show one portfolio instead:

  1. Touch and hold the widget and tap Edit Widget.
  2. Tap Selection and choose a portfolio, or Net worth for everything.

You can add several widgets, each showing a different portfolio.

Add a Widget on Android

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen and tap Widgets. The wording can differ a little between phones.
  2. Find TrackMyStack, then touch and hold Net Worth or Top Movers and drag it into place.
  3. On the Configure widget screen, choose Account total, or choose Single portfolio and pick the portfolio.
  4. Tap Save.

To resize a widget, touch and hold it, then drag its edges. To show a different portfolio later, remove the widget and add it again.

Hide the Amounts

Each widget has an eye button in its top-right corner. Tap it to replace the amounts with dots, for example when your phone is lying on a table. Percentages stay visible. The button hides or shows the amounts on all your TrackMyStack widgets at once.

How Often the Widgets Update

The widgets refresh in the background about every 30 minutes, and whenever you open the app. On iPhone, iOS decides the exact timing. To update straight away, tap the refresh button next to the eye. It refreshes all your TrackMyStack widgets.

The time on a widget (“As of” on iPhone, “Updated” on Android) is the time of the prices, not of the last refresh. Without Premium that is the last market close, so it can show an earlier date even right after a refresh.

If your phone is offline, the widgets fall back to figures saved on your phone, which can be a little older than the ones you last saw. On iPhone, Medium and Large widgets mark these as Cached.

If a Widget Looks Wrong

  • “Waiting for refresh” on iPhone, or “Open the app to publish widget data.” on Android: open TrackMyStack while signed in.
  • “Reconnect widget” on iPhone: open the app to renew the widget’s access.
  • Old or missing figures: in the app, go to Support, then Diagnostics, open the Recovery tab and tap Resync widget.

Signing out of the app clears the widgets. Sign back in and open the app to fill them again.
